Dear Immaculata Community,
For months we have been operating with over 93% of our 学生, 教师, and staff vaccinated for 新型冠状病毒肺炎. Given our high vaccination rate and decline in infections, and after careful consideration of the newest masking guidelines announced by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention on Friday, February 25th, we have determined it is time to revise the University’s mask policy.
Effective March 1st, individuals will no longer be required to wear masks in indoor spaces on campus. While the face covering mandate has been removed, all Immaculata employees, 学生, and members of our campus community retain the option to continue wearing a face mask on Immaculata campus. Until further notice, this will be a matter of individual choice in every setting except individual offices, where 教师 and staff may require anyone visiting their office to wear a mask. Students in clinical settings, internships, practicums, and student teaching may be required to wear a mask in those settings. For large event gatherings, masking is optional, but the CDC has indicated that wearing high quality masks keeps one well protected, even if others are not masking.
It is expected that all Immaculata community members, regardless of their masking choice, respect and support the decision of others.
Thank you for all that you have done and continue to do to keep our campus safe and healthy.
